Luxury United Arab Emirates airliner Etihad Airways hosted the who’s who of fashion and sporting glitterati last night at Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium to launch the international airliners new direct flights from Melbourne to Abu Dhabi.
Middle Eastern flavours were transformed into bit sized dishes while champagne was free flowing over the Arabian carpet as over 300 sporting celebrities, politicos, glamorous media darlings fresh from LMFF and VIPs descended on Etihad Stadium.
Australian and international pop princess Danni Minogue welcomed the VIP gathering which included Ferrari drivers Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen, Anthony Callea and Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson.
Etihad Airways launches flights from Melbourne to Abu Dhabi on Monday. Currently Etihad operates flights to a global network of 51 destinations across the Middle East, Europe, North America, Africa and Asia. The airline currently has a fleet of 43 aircraft.
Flight EY 461 will depart Melbourne daily at 2300 and arrive at Abu Dhabi at 0620. The return flight EY 460 will depart from Abu Dhabi at 2235 arriving in Melbourne at 1915 the following day. All times are local.
