The majestic humpback whales may have departed their favourite holiday stopover of the Fraser Coast for another year, however there is still a whale of a time to be had at the Queensland holiday hotspot this summer.
Fraser Coast Opportunities has unveiled a major tourism campaign for summer, encouraging visitors to follow the antics of the humpbacks’ official mascot, Harvey the Whale, and win big!
While his fellow humpbacks have left the region after another successful season entertaining thousands with their aquatic acrobatics in the calm waters of Hervey Bay, Harvey is refusing to succumb to his migratory instincts and is staying on for a “humpback summer.”
Fans can follow Harvey’s adventures on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube as he splashes out on a summer holiday to remember, experiencing the world’s best natural attractions on the Fraser Coast.
During Harvey’s summer holiday, people have the opportunity of going into the draw to win one of three ultimate Fraser Coast family holidays valued at well over $7000 in total simply by Fraser Coast's website.
The packages feature accommodation and tours of Fraser Island; flights and accommodation for Lady Elliot Island; aquatic adventures; luxury accommodation in Hervey Bay; quirky Mary Poppins tours; return rail transfers courtesy of Queensland Rail Travel and much more.
General Manager of Fraser Coast Opportunities, David Spear, said the fun campaign had the serious intention of encouraging more visitors during summer, which was one of the best times to experience the region’s world class natural attractions.
“We are urging holidaymakers to come and discover some of the world’s best natural attractions and join Harvey for the ultimate nature-based holiday this summer,’’ Mr Spear said.
Here is just a small sample of what’s in store for visitors to the Fraser Coast this summer.
