The joint forum convenors of the UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), the Australian Emergency Management Institute (AEMI) and the University of Technology-Sydney (UTS), invite tourism industry professionals, emergency management professionals, tourism and emergency management policy makers, and academics to attend his important event.
In 2011, the UNWTO initiated the first such forum held in the world at the headquarters of AEMI at Mt Macedon, Victoria. The upcoming forum is essentially an advance on the theme of cooperative policy, strategy and practice between the public and private sectors of the tourism industry and government and private sector emergency management agencies.
This forum will highlight the results of work commissioned by the UNWTO and undertaken by Bournemouth University (UK) on the integration of emergency management and tourism and will also feature best practice Australian and international initiatives. Speakers include leading Australian and international experts on tourism risk and crisis management and emergency management.
The two day forum is being held at the Aerial Conference Centre on the campus of the University of Technology-Sydney, Level 7, 235 Jones St Ultimo.
The forum fee is Aus$360, and this includes the forum, proceedings and meals (while in session), including the forum dinner on Thursday 20 September. For full time students the conference fee is Aus$250.
If you would like to register for this event please complete our Registration Form In answer to the conference with which you are registering just write UNWTO.
