SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, will be making adjustments to its network during the Northern Winter operating season (28 October 2012 – 30 March 2013).
A number of services will be retimed and restructured during the Northern Winter season:
On Wednesdays and Sundays, the Darwin-Singapore service will be retimed from the current early morning departure to an evening flight, allowing for increased connectivity to Singapore Airlines’ European and North Asian network. The inbound Singapore-Darwin flight on the same day will be retimed to a morning departure. This change will provide customers travelling to and from Darwin with more flight connection options through the combined network of SilkAir and Singapore Airlines. The frequency of flights on this route remains unchanged at four times weekly.
The current Singapore – Cebu – Davao circular flights on Thursdays will be delinked, with two new direct flights between Singapore and Cebu and Singapore and Davao introduced instead.
To better match capacity with prevailing market demand, an additional service will be introduced to Wuhan, China and Chiang Mai, Thailand, with frequency to each destination increasing from three to four flights per week.
For the Indochina region, an additional Singapore – Danang – Siem Reap circular flight will be introduced on Tuesdays from the start of the Northern Winter season.
In India, an additional frequency will be added to Hyderabad, increasing the number of weekly flights to nine. For Chennai, operations on Sundays will be moved to Wednesdays, with frequencies unchanged.
Some frequency reductions will also be implemented in selected markets during the Northern Winter schedule.
Services between Singapore and Changsha services will be reduced from the current four times to three times weekly. Flights between Singapore and Pekanbaru will also decrease from the current five times to four times weekly.
