Jetset Travel & Travelworld today launched the industry’s first retail travel catalogue app.
The Jetset Travel & Travelworld catalogue iPad apps are a portable dynamic user experience, which will enhance the travel research practice for the consumer. The app will allow the display of high quality images, video capability, engaging editorial and direct linkage to retail websites.
The app is an enriched version of the already popular Jetset Travel & Travelworld bi-monthly print catalogue’s which highlight various destinations and travel deals in each issue. The app will be free for consumers to download bi-monthly from the app store and can be viewed through their iPad tablet device.
According to Jetset Travel & Travelworld Marketing Manager, Rashelle Toms, the app has been developed to provide a convenient tool for tech-savvy consumers.
“With a quarter of consumers expected to have a tablet within the next two to three years, our apps have been designed to help fulfil their travel needs, making the most of the rich visual capabilities of the technology,” said Ms Toms. “Pictures truly speak a thousand words when it comes to travelling, and we’re leveraging this capacity to help our travellers decide where to go.”
It is estimated that 1 in 4 consumers will have a tablet by 2015, with iPad currently holding 95% of the market. The potential for interactive communication and increased consumer engagement will continue to improve as more consumers become aware of portable device technology.
