Lufthansa A319-100 – LH2241
3-3 in economy
Check In and Luggage Allowance:
Check in at Charles de Gaulle Airport was very streamlined with self service check in counters and relatively short lines at baggage drop.
My 23kg luggage limit was stressing me out a little but, thankfully, the customer service agent allowed me through at 28kg with a warning to watch my weight.
Given that I was en route to board Carnival Breeze, I took this advice on several different levels!
Whilst my carry on suitcase is of standard size, the A219-100 seemed to have smaller overhead compartments meaning I had to play Tetris with the contents of my luggage. Luckily for me, it ended up fitting perfectly.
Charles de Gaulle Airport has become very energy conscious with automated lights in all of the bathrooms both in the sleek washing area and the stalls.
The downside of this is that they turn off less than one minute (I timed them) after entering, meaning that you are left in the dark unless you wave your hands around like a crazy woman!
On Time Service:
The flight departed as scheduled and, luckily, I arrived in Munich with plenty of time to make my connecting flight.
I hoped that there was also enough time for my luggage to make the flight considering the palaver earlier this week with my luggage remaining in Munich en route to Paris.
The seats were the same slimline design as my previous flights. The Lufthansa planes are one of the cleanest I have experienced in the world.
Food and Beverage:
Being such an early flight, I fell straight to sleep on boarding and, thus, missed the food service unfortunately. A traditional French continental breakfast was on offer with croissants and complimentary beverages however.
Having become so used to purchasing meals on a flight, the complimentary offering of quality food and a variety of beverages impressed me with Lufthansa.
Whilst there were no entertainment options on this aircraft, apart from their inflight magazine, a variety of French newspapers were on offer prior to boarding the plane.
The multilingual staff were friendly and courteous during the flight and kindly let me rest rather than disturb me with food or drinks.
They were all so polished and well groomed for so early in the morning as well!
