“Young and dynamic”, that’s how John Parché, General Manager at The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa describes their new Conference and Events Manager, Sasha Eburne.
“Despite her young age she is highly experienced and very switched on with the conference and events market” he said. “We are delighted to have her with us at the resort. Conferences, weddings and incentive visits are very important and the spin off in the area is well recognised, with many local suppliers benefiting as a result of this market. We can accommodate up to 180 people for conferences and for many of these guests it is their first time to the region”.
“My role is to both secure events and to manage them” said Sasha Eburne. “There is a lot of competition between Coffs Harbour and The Gold and Sunshine Coasts but The Byron at Byron has earned an excellent reputation for offering something unique. The attention to detail and personal service offered here is equal to the best hotels in the world, yet at a fraction of the price”.
Whilst searching for a home to rent, Sasha is living at The Byron at Byron. “I moved here for a lifestyle change” she said. “It’s completely another world, compared to my previous roles. It truly is something different. I’m looking forward to living a more creative lifestyle. My passion is event styling, so I’ll have great opportunities here to grow”.
Sasha arrived from a position as Conference and Events Sales Manager at the Swissôtel Sydney, which followed five years with Accor Hotels, most recently as Business Development Manager. At Accor Sasha was fortunate to have undertaken their internal Management Program, where she qualified successfully.
Previous conference clients of The Byron at Byron include Audi Australia, NRL and Redken 5th Avenue NYC. The resort also hosted Oprah Winfrey’s 42 guests on her Oprah’s Ultimate Australian Adventure Tour in 2010.
The resort currently enjoys around 30% conference business. This is anticipated to grow by 5% in the 2012/13 period.
