|Tourism Queensland has teamed up with Australia’s number one blogger Darren Rowse to invite some of the world’s best bloggers to Queensland to experience the Great Barrier Reef. |
Tourism Queensland CEO Anthony Hayes said 10 lucky bloggers from anywhere around the globe would win a five-day trip to Queensland, teaming up with Darren on the Great Barrier Reef to also receive some blogging training.
“It will be a tough gig for the successful bloggers who will be tasked with spending a few hours each day blogging either on a tropical island or under the canopy of the world’s oldest rainforest,” Mr Hayes said.
“Darren is an influential social media wiz with an audience of more than five million readers to his blogs problogger.net and digital-photography-school.com .
“He is also an Aussie who is passionate about Queensland and wants to showcase our tourism attractions, particularly the Great Barrier Reef, to the world.
“Darren has put the call out today, inviting fellow bloggers and his global audience to enter the competition.
“Entering is simple, interested bloggers just have to tell us in 150 words why they would make the ideal ‘Queensland Blogger Correspondent’.
“Our aim is to attract other highly creative bloggers to Queensland and show them first-hand our unforgettable world-class tourism experiences.
“It’s about inspiring them to help us promote Queensland to their expansive networks with their fabulous first-hand stories, photos and videos.”
‘ProBlogger’s Darren Rowse said he loved Queensland and wanted to showcase the state through the power of social media.
“The best way to get out the message about Queensland is to invite other bloggers to experience it for themselves,” Mr Rowse said.
“A year ago I had an idea to run a competition to bring a group of bloggers to Australia to do some training, after tweeting about the idea I was inundated with responses.
“I’m ecstatic to announce this competition today which allows 10 other creative bloggers to join me in Queensland, Australia’s holiday playground and a regular holiday spot for my family.”
Mr Hayes said the 10 successful bloggers would travel to Queensland’s Great Barrier Reef in June this year.
