IGLTA increases involvement in the international trade fair
As global travel businesses unite for ITB Berlin, one of the world’s largest travel trade fairs, the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association continues to work with its partners and members to raise the profile of LGBT tourism at the show. IGLTA once again has a featured spot in the show’s Gay Pavilion, 7-11 March, sharing its stand with members from India, Poland, the United States, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Greece, and France.
“ITB is one of the most important international tourism trade fairs in the world, and IGLTA continues to maintain a large presence there promoting our business members and gay tourism,” said IGLTA President/CEO John Tanzella. “This year is highlighted by our joint press conference with the United Nations World Tourism Organization, which will showcase their first study on global gay tourism trends.”
IGLTA events during the week include:
- A "Champagne & Canapés" lunchtime reception in the Chic Outlet Shopping® stand on 8 March, which will also launch a new three-year global partnership between the luxury outlet company and IGLTA
- Presentation of the UNWTO "Global Report on LGBT Tourism" on 8 March at 5 p.m. followed by a cocktail reception hosted by Embratur/Santur to promote the IGLTA Annual Global Convention in Florianopolis, Brazil this April (both events in the Gay Pavilion).
- The annual IGLTA Member Networking Reception at the Axel Hotel on 9 March, 21:00h-midnight
