Travel agents can now earn commission on LCC’s booking packages through Expedia TAAP. Low Cost Airlines such as Air Asia, Jetstar, Virgin Internet rates and many others around the world are commissionable when booked as a package with land content through Expedia TAAP. The package push coincides with a major Television campaign launched by Expedia last night. Agents know that they can access product and build packages for their customers through the Expedia TAAP.
Many full service carriers can also be booked through Expedia TAAP with heavily discounted package accommodation, Car Hire and Activities anywhere in the world with instant confirmation. Whether it’s a Fly and Flop Bargain to Fiji; a Ski Excursion to Colorado; or a great value Trekking Adventure to the Himalayas, Expedia packages can be put together by Travel Agents in seconds.
Additional LCC’s are in the pipeline adding even more product to this growing segment of the industry. Expedia has negotiated access to many “Exclusive” rates with carriers such as Air Asia which are only available through Expedia.
Expedia TAAP celebrates the second birthday since launch in ANZ in March 2010. The program now boasts over 2,000 Travel agencies in the region and a continual growth rate of about 70 new agencies registering every month.
“Everyone has enjoyed a terrific start to 2012”, states Stu Udy, Manager for Travel Agent Distribution for Expedia. “We are over 150% up on the same period last year but even more significantly almost 100% up on our best week ever.”
