Dreamworld on the Gold Coast has announced their partnership with global entertainment brand, DreamWorks Animation, to wrap up their 30th birthday celebrations this year.
Slated for a roll-out in three stages, guests will be welcomed into the world of the DreamWorks family including Shrek, Puss in Boots, Po and Alex the Lion year ‘round.
“We are really excited to have formed a long term strategic alliance with one of the most visionary entertainment companies in the world,” Dreamworld CEO Todd Coates said.
“The DreamWorks Animation brand is a household name, and we have no doubt that featuring the characters and worlds from their movies will be a great draw for our park.”
This summer season will see the addition of the ‘DreamWorks Holiday Shrektacular Show’, which will feature eight characters performing an array of holiday-themed songs.
Phase two is slated for opening in the 2012 Easter school holiday period with the all-new 8,400sqm ‘DreamWorks Experience’ located where the ‘Nickelodeon’ precinct currently resides.
Guests will have the chance to come face-to-face with their favourite DreamWorks characters, watch shows, ride all-new attractions and sample themed food and beverage options.
“Dreamworld has done a fantastic job of creating quality entertainment experiences for their customers and we look forward to joining forces with the largest theme park in Australia, a hugely important market for us,” DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg said.
“The alliance between Dreamworld and DreamWorks represents yet another opportunity for families across the globe to interact with our characters in new and exciting ways.”
Dates are yet to be announced for the third stage in the roll-out with a ‘Kung Fu Garden’ offering guests the chance to meet Po from ‘Kung Fu Panda’ and relax with themed food and beverage options.
The announcement wraps up a year of new attractions including the new exotic animal enclosure, ‘The Lair’, ‘ShockWave’ and the addition of the ‘Big 7’ thrill ride ‘The BuzzSaw’.
